The BCCI central contract for 2025-26 is set to be revealed soon. However, the reports have already come out saying the demotion of the two pillars of the Indian team, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, from Grade A+ to Grade B. Notably, both players have retired from Tests and T20Is and play only one format of the game. On the other hand, Shubman Gill is set to be included in the Grade A category.

Mohammed Shami, Mukesh Kumar, Rajat Patidar, Sarfaraz Khan, Nitish Kumar Reddy, and Ishan Kishan have been removed from the new contract list, while Nitish Rana and Sai Sudharsan make entry in the new BCCI contract.
However, this BCCI is yet to reveal the official contract list. The list is expected to be released in February 2026.
