
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has stated that there will be a shift in its approach to disciplinary matters within the Indian Premier League.Secretary Devajit Saikia announced that the board is exploring new avenues to penalize entire franchises rather than just individual offenders.This harsh approached was due to a series of high-profile breaches during the 2026 season. This move aims to protect the reputation of the league, ensuring that the conduct of players and staff remains discipled. The Indian Premier League has been on a progressive scale and the tournament will continue to grow by upholding the spirit of the game.
"We will be taking some action. We are looking at the various terms and conditions and protocols of IPL [around] how the teams behave; It is not just players or officials; As a team they have to maintain some decorum so that the image of the IPL is never adversely affected. To ensure that we have to take a call and we will be taking some action," said Devajit Saikia regarding the ongoing season of the IPL. There have been instances of violation in the tournament and it surely doesn’t look good on television, when the league is considered as the best franchise cricket league in the world.
