Ollie Robinson eyes comeback with support from Brendon McCullum
"I had a text from Baz (McCullum) at the start of the season, just to say that the door was still open, which was nice. Keysy (Robert Key) rang me, as well, to say 'take wickets, knock the door down' and there's still a spot for you." Robinson said as per ESPNcricinfo
"Everyone knows I had a lot going on. I've got a lot of clarity now on that situation. My mind is on cricket and nothing else. I've got the love for the game back, I would say. I fell out of love with it and it took me a while to get back to where I wanted to be. I just feel refreshed now, like I've got another chapter to give, and hopefully to England," He added.
Ollie Robinson has played a total of 20 Test matches for England, taking 76 wickets with an average of 22.92, including 3 five-wicket hauls.
Notably, he last played for England in 2024 against India in Ranchi. He was not able to take a single wicket in that game. However, currently, he is leading Sussex in the County Championship Division One 2026 and has taken 11 wickets in 4 games. Additionally, he also scored 286 runs, including 1 century.
With the current form, Ollie Robinson is the top contender to lead England’s bowling attack this summer with Sam Cook.
