Former Australia cricketer Brett Lee said that he spotted Virat Kohli's potential early in his career and could see him becoming the cricketer he is today. Lee, fondly known as Binga, appeared on The Ranveer Show, where he dwelled into multiple aspects of his career and life. One of them was facing a younger Virat Kohli. When show host, Ranveer Allahbadia, asked him if he saw Kohli becoming ‘The Kohli’ that he is today, Lee said yes. The former cricketer said that he could see it in his eyes, referring to the passion the former Indian captain had for the game.
"You can see in his eyes like you see in his eyes, he's got that that he looks straight at you and it's game on. And you aren’t going to get me out. I saw that when I played against him. You see it now like he’s, I mean, he has had an incredible career," Lee told Allahbadia. He went on to say that Kohli would be very proud of his career, and he should be proud of it.

The former fast bowler lauded Rohit Sharma and called him one of his favourite players to watch. "Rohit Sharma is one of my favourite players to watch, especially the pull shot,” the 2003 ODI World Cup winner said. He added, "Ricky Ponting & Rohit Sharma have got the best pull shots in world cricket.” In addition to it, he said that while Sachin Tendulkar is the best batter to ever play the game, according to him, the best cricketer is Jacques Kallis.
"I've always said that I think that the best batsman to ever play the game is Sachin Tendulkar. But the best cricketer is Jacques Kallis. He's got the best numbers in the world. If you look at his stats, the stats don't lie. He's incredible,” Lee stated. "But to be alongside as a teammate and to watch him prepare for a game, his heart rate was about 30 beats a minute before going out to bat, as he was chilled out. So relaxed," he added.
