Fans couldn’t stop but lauded the Chennai Super Kings’ bowling order as they dismantled the Delhi Capitals’ top batting order in IPL 2026. Both teams were up against each other in the 48th clash of the tournament at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi. The Axar Patel-led side entered the clash on the back of a seven-wicket win over the Rajasthan Royals. On the other hand, the Super Kings defeated the Mumbai Indians by a margin of eight wickets in their previous fixture.
The game saw the DC skipper winning the toss and inviting the rivals to field first. While the home team was aiming to continue its dominance, things unfolded in a contrasting manner for the hosts. The Chennai bowlers went all guns blazing right from the first over, and got their first success in the form of Pathum Nissanka in the fourth over. KL Rahul departed next, followed by Karun Nair, Nitish Rana, and Axar Patel. Within 11 overs, Nissanka remained their highest scorer with 19 runs in 15 balls.
Within 11 overs, the DC were reduced to 69-5. On CSK’s side, Noor Ahmad scalped two wickets while Akeal Hosein, Mukesh Choudhary, and Gurjapneet Singb picked one each.
