Scary scenes unfolded at the Delhi Capitals camp when a young batter got struck on his face during the practice session. In a video spreading like wildfire on the internet, a young member of the Delhi Capitals squad was taken in an ambulance, after he got hit in the face by a ball during practice session at Arun Jaitley Stadium. In the video, the said player could be seen placed on a stretcher and rushed to the hospital after an initial first-aid on the ground itself.

While there is no confirmation about the identity of the player, he is said to be Sahil Parikh. An 18-year-old left-hander, Parikh was bought in by the franchise in the 2026 IPL auction. However, he is yet to make an appearance for the side. Notably, the franchise is yet to share an update about Parikh.

Another addition to Delhi Capitals’ injury crisis

Things haven’t been going too well for the Axar Patel-led franchise. After getting off to a good start, the Capitals have dealt with inconsistency and are having a curvy season thus far. Out of six games, they have won three, and are seeded sixth in the standings. In addition to a disappointing campaign, they are also dealing with multiple injury crises.

Notably, they saw Ben Duckett opt out of the IPL 2026 season to save his Test career, while Mitchell Starc is yet to play a game this season having suffered a shoulder injury. In addition, the skipper himself, Axar Patel himself retired out earlier this season with cramps. In their upcoming game, the Capitals will be up against the Punjab Kings on Saturday, April 24.
