All lives matter on the planet and nothing can ever be taken lightly. Each life matters. Especially the young ones. The promises of those who aren’t yet or there yet where they would like to go or belong. And this news piece is about an incident that is truly gut wrenching, heartbreaking, unusual, and absolutely soul shattering has happened and is being reported. The same is making quite a storm at the moment over social media and one can’t believe the sheer enormity involved in it. So what has happened? Well, to put it mildly, each time you say or hear or even read somewhere the popular saying that - life is too unpredictable and anything can happen anytime- remember that each word said in the statement is true and nothing could ever be left to chance. For what happened most recently has perhaps reminded one of the above. Wisdom but one filled with shock and a sense of sadness.

A shocker from the national capital

Apparently, in what is clearly a shocking piece of news emanating from the country’s national capital, it turns out that a young, rather very young 14-year-old boy living in Delhi was killed and not only that- but along with his cousin- in a wild incident of hit-and-run case in Delhi. The same youngster was on a phone call with his father whom he had told that he would return home from the IPL contest which is when the accident occurred, shocking everyone around him. If this incident doesn’t tell you that life is truly bizarre and sadness can engulf us just about anytime, then one wonders, what incident will?

But let’s delve deeper into what exactly happened

To quote a news update on the same incident published on the revered India Today, it’s necessary to take account of the following-

“The two cousins, including a 14-year-old boy, were killed after a truck rammed their bike in New Delhi’s Parliament Street area while they were returning home after watching an IPL match. The accident happened when the boy was on a phone call with his father, telling him they would be home soon. Watch: 6 wickets in 6 balls! Cricketer scripts history, says 'it’s still a bit surreal'

Police received a call about the incident around 10.30 pm on Monday and found both victims lying unconscious on the road in critical condition. They were rushed to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, where doctors declared them brought dead, Deputy Commissioner of Police Sachin Sharma said.”

Abhav Bhatia, who was a student of Class 10 at the Hansraj School collapsed dead along with his cousin, 20-year-old Yagya Bhatiya, who was studying Bsc at Swami Vivekanand University.

The police have also reported that neither of them were apparently wearing a helmet when the truck hit them from behind. The perpetrators in the truck felt the scene of the accident.

This is all truly heartbreaking. Thoughts and prayers with the family of the deceased.
