In an interview by the former test player, Ravichandran Ashwin, the young South- African player talked about being picked up by the MI, then losing form and now playing for the Chennai Super Kings. He talked about the love he is already receiving from the Yellow Army and wants to play for them and represent them in the matches coming ahead, to give the same love to them.

Brewis also spoke about how being picked up by the Super Kings had been an easy decision for him because of the presence of veterans like Stephen Fleming. He revealed it had been a blessing for him and one of the easiest and best decisions he made.

"There was lots of options but big blessing came when Fleming & CSK reached out - It was a very easy decision and its been one of the best decisions - stepping stone in CSK has done only good for me".

Ashwin also asked the CSK player about what kept him going even when he was going through a rough patch. The player replied by saying, he talked to a lot of people like Albie Morkel and Marketing Voucher who he said, had only good intentions for him. Brewis also revealed he had engraved the date 25 December 2024, when he went back to stop overthinking, overanalyzing and just hitting the balls which helped loved doing as a person.

“They were honest with me, like my school coach, everyone. And the reality was that I needed to do what was good for my cricket. And it was a decision I made on the 21st, a bit before that but I committed on the 25th of 2024 December.”

The young CSK player also revealed that he hit thousands of ball to the stumps, he had blisters on his hand but he enjoyed every bit of it.
