Pakistan cricket is always in the news whether for the good or the bad reasons. Recently they suffered a series loss against Bangladesh and were under plenty of criticism from their own former players and experts. Pakistan is set to play Australia in the ODI series which starts later this week. Australia have announced their squad for this tour and plenty of big players are missing either due to IPL commitments or due to rest. This is another embarrassment for Pakistan as teams are not bothering to send their full-strength squads.

IPL Commitments for Australian Stars

Travis Head and Pat Cummins are part of the Sunrisers Hyderabad side and will be in action during the eliminator. While Josh Hazlewood and Tim David are the other Australian players who are with the Royal Challengers Bengaluru side and they have already qualified for the Final. In the absence of plenty of senior players including Mitch Starc, Australia have sent a very young squad with inexperience. This has caused a stir in social media with plenty of fans labelling this as an insult to Pakistan cricket.

Mitch Marsh ruled out of series, Josh Inglis named captain

Australian captain Mitchell Marsh has been ruled out of the upcoming series against Pakistan due to an injury. Marsh had missed the final group stage match for LSG and has now been ruled out of this tour with an ankle injury. Wicketkeeper-batter Josh Inglis will lead the side in the absence of senior players who will miss the series due to injuries or IPL commitments. Inglis, who has previously captained Australia during the Pakistan series in 2024, will now lead the side once again. The first ODI is scheduled on May 30 in Rawalpindi.
