His rigorous session included fitness drills and an hour-long batting stint in the nets against both pacers and spinners. Hitman looked in fine touch in nets as he flicks pulls, cuts and drives looked effortless and pacers didn’t get a hold over him too.
Rohit Sharma has successfully cleared his fitness tests at the BCCI Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru and joined the India ODI squad in Mohali. The clearance puts an end to speculation regarding his hamstring injury, confirming his availability for the upcoming three-match ODI series against Afghanistan starting in Dharamshala.
Hardik Pandya to miss matches as he gets ‘fresh injuries’ hours after BCCI fitness clearance
Hardik Pandya was declared fully fit by the Sports Science Team at the BCCI's Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Bengaluru. He completed a rigorous week of rehabilitation and match simulations, proving his all-round fitness by successfully bowling his full 10-over quota in training. Hours later according to reports from a BCCI source came that Pandya picked up new injury that leaves him with no chance to play the matches.
“With three weeks for recovery, there is absolutely no chance of him playing the ODI series as his rehabilitation will not be complete," a BCCI source was quoted as saying by news agency PTI.
Virat Kohli was also ruled out after suffering a hamstring injury during the IPL 2026 final. Yashasvi Jaiswal has replaced Virat Kohli in India's squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series against Afghanistan.
