The IPL 2024 auction is all set to happen on 19th December 2023 and we could not see some of them not being picked by the franchises since they haven’t performed well in the recent times with the bat or ball in any format of the game. Here, in this article we will have a look at five players who might not get picked by any franchises in 2024 auction despite registering themselves for a decent amount.
1. Kedar Jadhav
Kedar Jadhav after having a poor IPL season in 2020 was picked by SRH in 2021 where he played six games and later in 2022, he wasn’t seen playing in the IPL. But in 2023, he was chosen as replacement for David Willey and played two games for RCB. Jadhav’s inclusion in IPL 2023 was a surprise as he was doing commentary and unexpectedly got called to play for Bengaluru-based franchise.
Considering his age factor and poor form, he isn’t expected to get sold in IPL 2024 auction for INR 2 Crore.

2. Angelo Mathews
The Sri Lankan legendary all-rounder has set his base price for INR 2 Crore, which seems to be costly for an old player like Mathews who isn’t in the scheme of things to play big leagues and international cricket. Recently, he came in as replacement player to play 2023 World Cup and created history by becoming the first player to get dismissed timed-out.

3. Steven Smith
Steven Smith was last seen playing IPL in the 2021 edition as he went unsold in 2022 mega auction and later in 2023, he didn’t register for auction as he was seen doing English commentary. Steven Smith coming after a long gap and setting his base price for INR 2 Crore might not help him to be picked by IPL franchises.

4. Jason Holder
Jason Holder had a very poor IPL season in 2023 for Rajasthan Royals, which made them release him. He just picked 4 wickets from 8 games in the last IPL edition at an economy close to 10 (9.96) and managed only 12 runs with the bat.
Holder hasn’t shown any intent to perform well in big leagues and he has set his base price once again for a huge value of INR 1.5 Crore.

5. Chris Jordan
Chris Jordan’s poor bowling was one of the biggest drawbacks for Mumbai Indians in the last IPL season as he picked only 3 wickets from 6 innings at an economy of 10.77. Jordan has been very poor in past IPL seasons when it comes to death bowling, hence he isn’t expected to be picked for his base price of INR 1.5 Crore.
