Former Indian captain Rohit Sharma will be making his television hosting debut with the family entertainer, “Family Full House with Rohit Sharma”. The show will premiere on 19 September 2026 exclusively on Sony Entertainment Television and Sony LIV. The show will see Hitman bringing his trademark humour in a clean, comedy driven game-and-chat show focused on family fun, banter, personal anecdotes and audience interaction rather than cricket analysis. Sony Pictures Networks India is expanding its non-scripted entertainment slate with a brand-safe, multi-generational show built around Rohit’s off-field personality. 

Cameras are already rolling and Rohit has shared first-day-on-set glimpses, and the customised lounge features his framed jersey, a “Hitman” carving, helmet and bat. In the announcement promo, fans are seen asking Rohit to repeat his famous “garden” and “gully cricket” lines. A distressed Rohit is seen saying, “Do line kya bol di, itna viral ho gaya. Jab mera pura show aayega to kya hoga” (I spoke just two lines and it went so viral. What will happen when my entire show comes out)?

Rakesh Bedi has been spotted in early footage and there could be many celebrity guests. Segment details are still being finalised, but the focus remains light-hearted family entertainment. This marks the next chapter for the World Cup-winning captain after retiring from Tests and T20I format. 19 September 2007 was the date Rohit debuted in T20Is and he will be making his debut as Television hosting on 19th September 2026.

Rohit Sharma Still in India’s ODI Plans After BCCI Review Meeting

Rohit Sharma remains firmly in India’s ODI plans after the recent BCCI Review meeting. BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia recently shut down retirement speculation saying that the 39-year-old is playing brilliantly and scored 138 in the last match. There is no immediate threat to his place. Across 288 ODIs he has scored 11895 runs at an average of 48.95 with 34 centuries and a highest of 264. In 2025 he was among India’s leading run-getters during the Champions Trophy triumph. 

In 2026, Rohit has had a mixed run of form and there was a lot of speculation on his spot before the third ODI against England.  However he scored a memorable 138 off 110 balls at Lord’s and became the first Indian century at the venue. India will face West Indies in the next ODI series, followed by New Zealand tour and these series could be crucial as Rohit Sharma looks to cement his spot for the 2027 ODI World Cup in South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia. The former Indian captain will turn 40 next year and he will know that every failure will come under scrutiny and the upcoming matches will be crucial for him and Team India.
