Netizens couldn’t stop words of appreciation for Shreyas Iyer and Prabhsimran Singh’s innings against LSG, labelling it as “Ice Cold Partnership” in match 68th of IPL 2026. LSG had nothing to lose coming to this game, as they are already officially eliminated from IPL 2026, but things are tight for PBKS, as they, along with KKR and RR, are aiming for the last spot of playoff qualification. Thus, this was a must-win match for the Shreyas Iyer-led Punjab.
Chasing 197, Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh opened the innings for PBKS. Although Mohammed Shami had the first laugh dismissing Arya on first over for golden duck. In his next over he uprooted Cooper Conolly for 18 bringing captain Shreyas Iyer to the pitch and since then it was no looking back for Punjab in this chase. The duo then formed a partnership taking PBKS to 105/2 in just 10 overs and slamming bowlers in regular intervals. Prabhsimran became the first Indian uncapped player to get to 500 in a season and Shreyas with his maiden IPL ton in just 51 balls unbeaten completed his 7000 T20 runs. It was Arjun Tendulkar who uprooted Prabhsimran to give LSG a breakthrough although the damage was already done.
Netzens couldn’t stop appreciating this comeback of PBKS after their losing streak. Some were in awe of the consistency of Prabhsimran Singh with his willow while others were elated to see Shreyas Iyer being back to basics.

PBKS IPL 2026 playoff qualification scenario
PBKS started off IPL 2026 in great zeal and with a consecutive winning streak, but the latter part of the tournament has seen them in shambles as they have lost six straight games out of their last 7 games. After losing to the Delhi Capitals, PBKS are sitting among the top four, having collected 13 points from 11 matches. But, they are not the only sides who are mathematically in the race at this point, with others like RR, KKR and DC also in the wait for the fourth-placed finish.
PBKS after winning their final game are at 15 points and in the fourth spot in the points table, but not qualified yet, as there will be the last two games will decide their fate majorly.
RR losing their final game against MI
KKR losing their final game, or if they win, their net run rate should exceed PBKS' tally.
