Former India captain Sourav Ganguly has backed the Indian team as strong favourites to win the T20 World Cup 2026, according to a report by ANI. Ganguly said that India currently have one of the most complete teams in world cricket, especially in the T20 format. India’s batting depth has been a major strength in recent years, with several players capable of scoring quickly and changing the course of a match. The team also has multiple all-rounders who provide flexibility in team selection. In addition, India’s bowling attack has improved, with a good mix of pace and spin options suited to different conditions.

Ganguly also highlighted India’s evolving approach to T20 cricket. He feels the team is now playing with more attacking intent and freedom, which is necessary in modern-day T20 matches. Exposure through domestic tournaments and international leagues has helped players gain valuable experience and confidence.
