India came out all guns blazing and New Zealand by surprise with a batting masterclass. Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson led Indiaโ€™s batting carnage and dismantled the Black Capsโ€™s plan. They took a couple of overs to settle in and assess the conditions, but there was no looking back after that.

Abhishek Sharma led the charge and silenced his critics by putting up a performance worthy of a World Cup final. Sharma saved his best for the last and proved why he is the number 1 T20I batsman in the world. It was indeed the completion of a redemption arc for Abhishek Sharma who has been trolled and criticized for his performance in the competition before today. Interestingly, Sharma now holds the record for the fastest half century in T20 World Cup Final History.

Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar took to his X handle to appreciate Indiaโ€™s batting performance and wrote, โ€œNot the easiest tournament for Abhishek Sharma, but the team showed belief in his ability. He has repaid that faith with a crucial knock in the final. Well played! Ishan Kishan bringing real momentum to the innings, and Sanju Samson continuing his reliable run,โ€

Sanju Samson joined the bandwagon and built upon his last two match winning performances. Samson scored his third consecutive fifty and got India to a flying start. Indiaโ€™s opening duo also created history by scoring 92 runs in six overs, the highest powerplay score in the history of the competition.

Ishan Kishan came in next after Sharma was dismissed and picked up from where his teammate left. Kishan scored 54 runs off just 25 balls with a strike rate of 214.

Users on the internet have praised the Indian players for their brilliant effort and fearless batting. Some users have also criticized Mitchell Santnerโ€™s decision to bowl first against India who have played really whenever they have batted first.

One user even wrote, โ€œIndia doesn't have a batting lineup. They have a conveyor belt of monsters. You dismiss one. Another one walks in. Angrier. Hungrier. More dangerous. New Zealand thought they took a wicket. They just woke something up,โ€
