India once again demonstrated the power of teamwork in their batting during the second T20 match against England in 2026. However, it wasn't enough to prevent England from taking the lead. The Indian cricket team fell short, losing to England by four wickets at Old Trafford in Manchester on Saturday, despite posting a solid score of 190/7 without a single player reaching a half-century. Abhishek Sharma contributed 43 runs off 24 balls, while Ishan Kishan added 49 runs from 44 deliveries.

On the other hand, Jacob Bethell turned the tide with a brilliant unbeaten 76 off 46 balls, leading England to victory. This match also marked another entry in India's unusual record of highest T20I totals without an individual scoring 50 or more.

After the first match at Chester-le-Street was washed out due to rain, Manchester hosted the first completed game of the five-match series. This defeat left the world No. 1 team, India, trailing 1-0 against world No. 2 England, adding extra pressure on the visitors as they aim to level the series in the upcoming matches.
