After a lot of thrilling action across two months, the much-awaited IPL 2026 finale finally concluded in the Narendra Modi Stadium with a lot of pomp and show between the Royal Challengers Bangalore and the Gujarat Titans. Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) won their second consecutive IPL title by defeating the Gujarat Titans by 5 wickets in the final. Virat Kohli anchored the chase with an unbeaten 75 off 42 balls, sealing the victory with a match-winning six as RCB successfully defended their crown.
The top-heavy Gujarat batting lineup faltered inside the powerplay. Washington Sundar anchored the innings with a gritty unbeaten 50, while Rasikh Salam Dar (3/27) and Bhuvneshwar Kumar (2/29) kept the pressure on. Venkatesh Iyer provided a rapid start (32 off 16). Despite a brief middle-order wobble, Virat Kohli battled through cramps to score 75 not out off 42 balls, hitting the winning runs to seal the championship. With this victory, RCB became only the third team in the history of the tournamentjoining Chennai Super Kings (2010-2011) and Mumbai Indians (2019-2020)to successfully defend their IPL title.
