His innings went on to be the highest individual run-scorer of any Indian batter in IPL history. The 152-run knock had a strike rate of 226.86, and he became the third batter overall to touch the landmark of scoring 150 or more runs in a single match in the competition, after Chris Gayle and Brendon McCullum. Rahul was retained for ₹14 crore, and his performance in the middle order helped Delhi maintain its reputation as one of the top batting units in the league.
Most 200-Plus Totals By A Team
The 2026 season became the highest scoring IPL season of all time. The record total of more than 200 made by Royal Challengers Bengaluru in a match against Punjab Kings in May became the 53rd 200+ total score in the season, breaking the old record of 52 made in 2025. Punjab Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad were the two teams that had eight 200+ scores, whereas the remaining three in this list belonged to Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi Teenage Batting Records
The new Rajasthan Royals sensation, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, proved himself to be the rising star of the tournament. Despite being only 15 years old, Sooryavanshi scored a century off only 36 deliveries against Sunrisers Hyderabad, making it the fastest hundred of IPL 2026. The audacious batting made the youngster an instant favorite of the fans and one of the stars of the tournament. Moreover, the young player surpassed the previous record held by Abhishek Sharma, the most sixes hit in one season of IPL by any Indian. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi hit 53 sixes in 14 games in the league phase. In addition, he became the fastest player to reach both 50 sixes in a season and 500 runs in just 220 balls faced.
Virat Kohli’s 9,000 IPL Runs
Virat Kohli added another major chapter to his IPL career during Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s league-stage clash against Gujarat Titans. The former RCB captain became the first cricketer in IPL history to complete 9,000 runs in the competition. By the end of league matches, Kohli had scored 9,218 runs from 281 IPL matches. He maintained an average of 40 and a strike rate of 134. The milestone once again underlined Kohli’s long-term consistency in the league. Even after many seasons, he remained one of IPL’s most reliable top-order batters.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Heinrich Klaasen Achieve Redemption

While remaining unbeaten at any point of time during the entire tournament in any order other than the top three orders, Klaasen managed to score 606 runs with an average of 50.50 in 14 league matches. He became the first player in T20 history to cross 600 runs in a single campaign while batting only at No. 4 or lower.
