Ishan Kishan overtakes Abhishek Sharma as Number 1 ranked T20I batter
Indian Wicket-keeper batter Ishan Kishan has climbed to the top of the ICC Men’s T20I Batting Rankings for the first time in his career. In the latest ICC rankings, Kishan replaced teammate Abhishek Sharma at the No. 1 spot. It marked an end to a 11-month stint of Sharma at the top. Ishan Kishan became only the fourth Indian batter to top the ICC Men’s T20I batting rankings after Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav and Abhishek Sharma.
After a two year break, Kishan made a comeback into the Indian cricket team for the T20 World Cup 2026 after a stellar domestic season last year. He is also the highest run getter for India in this format in 2026 and has been in stunning form. His next assignment will be the Asian Games as India look to clinch the gold.
