The Sunrisers Hyderabad have secured a dominant victory over the Chennai Super Kings at Chepauk and Ishan Kishan has pulled out the iconic whistle celebration. This is a direct dig at CSK’s “Whistle Podu” and there were moments of heated exchanges between the players. Ishan Kishan played a fabulous knock and he was instrumental in their victory as he stayed right till the end in the game. He was awarded the Player of the Match award for scoring 70 off 47 balls and he has spoiled the party for the men in yellow.

There were moments in the game where CSK would have felt like they were coming back into the game with the wickets of Heinrich Klaasen and Nitish Kumar Reddy. Klaasen was dropped initially by Dewald Brevis and that proved to be a costly mistake in the field for CSK. There were words exchanged between Sanju Samson and Heinrich Klaasen after his dismissal. That could be the reason for Ishan Kishan’s dig at CSK as the tensions arose between the two southern heavyweights.

SRH seal playoff spot with a clinical chase powered by Kishan and Klaasen against CSK

During the 2nd innings, the Sunrisers Hyderabad didn’t get off to the best of starts as Travis Head was dismissed early in the innings and Abhishek Sharma wasn’t in his usual flow. Mukesh Choudhary bowled a brilliant opening spell as he conceded few runs and took the big wicket of Head as well.

The partnership between Ishan Kishan and Heinrich Klaasen was a match-winning one as they navigated through the middle overs with authority. Despite the wicket of Klaasen, Ishan Kishan made sure that SRH got across the line and he received support from the likes of Nitish Kumar Reddy and Salil Arora. SRH won the game by 5 wickets with an over to go and they have secured their qualification into the playoffs. Now, the Chennai Super Kings will be heavily dependent on the results of the other teams as the maximum number of points they could reach is 14. This would be a heavy hit for the men in yellow as they did brilliantly to be in a position to qualify but the last two games haven’t been good for them.

Next, they take on the Gujarat Titans at Ahmedabad and that will be a difficult task to pull off. With the sensational bowling prowess of Mohammed Siraj and Kagiso Rabada, their top-order could easily topple with a matter of overs. As they are almost sure about their elimination, we could at least see MS Dhoni for the last time in the IPL in the next game and the fans will be heartbroken and delighted to see their veteran signing off from the IPL.
