The Royal Challengers Bengaluru have created history at the Arun Jaitley Stadium with an outrageous spell of bowling against the Delhi Capitals. The home side became the first side in the history of the IPL to lose 6 wickets before reaching 10 runs. It has been a horrific session of batting for the Capitals as none of their batters could stay at the crease for long. The experts will be critical of their approach as none of their batters attempted to play it safe despite the fall of wickets. Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Josh Hazlewood had their dream spell of bowling as they were clinical with their lengths and proved to be too good for the home side.

Delhi Capitals had put on a historic total of 265 with the help of KL Rahul's superhuman knock of 152 in the 1st innings. The duo of KL Rahul and Nitish Rana had also put up a record partnership of 220 runs and their batters had a fine afternoon against the Punjab Kings. Today was a different story as Bhuvneshwar Kumar took a wicket off the second ball of the game. From then on, it was all about RCB as they simply kept on asking questions with the ball that the Delhi Capitals couldn't find an answer for.

Hazlewood and Bhuvneshwar dismantle DC top order in record-breaking collapse at Arun Jaitley Stadium

Rajat Patidar had won the toss and elected to field first against the Delhi Capitals. Bhuvneshwar Kumar was entrusted with the duty to open the innings with the new ball and he delivered a wicket with an in-swinging yorker. In the next over, Josh Hazlewood rose up to the occasion and took the important wicket of KL Rahul with a good short ball. Sameer Rizvi was dismissed for a golden duck in the very same over by Josh Hazlewood.

Tristan Stubbs was sent ahead of David Miller in the hope that he would hold the innings. Unfortunately, he edged the ball straight to Devdutt Padikkal and that was the fourth wicket of the game. Just three balls later, the skipper Axar Patel was dismissed for a duck as well. The last wicket of the powerplay came in the form of Nitish Rana as Josh Hazlewood got the better off the batter.

The Royal Challengers Bengaluru will be happy with the record that they have got in the power play. They still do hold the unfortunate record of the lowest score in the IPL but this record will be a sort of a relief for them. RCB has always been known for their phenomenal batting process and it must feel really good to have a strong bowling record to their name.
