Shahbaz Ahmed successfully broke Chennai Super Kings' surging momentum by dismissing a dangerous Kartik Sharma in the 16th over at the Ekana Cricket Stadium. Kartik mercilessly slog-swept a full delivery directly in his slot, launching it far over the deep mid-wicket boundary, hitting a six on the second ball. Shahbaz drifted down leg-side, allowing Kartik to easily guide it past short fine leg to the deep square leg cushion.

Shahbaz dropped back his length on middle stump, but Kartik rocked back onto his hind foot and hammered a brutal pull shot to the boundary on the fourth ball. Finally, Ahmad got a breakthrough on the last ball of the over as Kartik failed to get under the delivery, resulting in a thick edge that holed out directly to Aiden Markram at long-on.
