Kartik Sharma orchestrated a phenomenal rescue act for Chennai Super Kings during Match 59 at the Ekana Cricket Stadium. Stepping onto the pitch under heavy duress, the uncapped ₹14.2 crore prodigy completely flipped the game's momentum. LSG bowler Akash Singh tore through CSK's top ranks, removing captain Ruturaj Gaikwad (13), Sanju Samson (20), and Urvil Patel (6). CSK slumped to a dangerous 32/3 in 5.3 overs. Entering at Number 4, Kartik Sharma initially stabilized the ship with soft hands. He worked the gaps alongside Dewald Brevis to navigate the powerplay constraints.
Once set, Kartik targeted LSG's spinners and fringe pacers. He notably targeted Prince Yadav in the 13th over, launching back-to-back length balls over deep mid-wicket and fine leg to cross the 100-team-run mark and raise a 50-run partnership. Displaying the dominant form that made him a domestic six-hitting champion, Kartik regularly danced down the track to left-arm spinner Shahbaz Ahmed, punishing him for 22 runs in a sequence of clean, calculated lofts.
Facing a veteran pace attack, Kartik played a wristy pull shot against a short ball to secure his 35-ball half-century. After hitting the half-century runs, Sharma celebrated by a lip on the mouth gesture, indicated towards critics who were questioning his performance. He pushed his score up to a career-best 71 runs off 42 balls at a strike rate of 169.05 before finally being caught trying to clear the boundary ropes.
That celebration from Kartik Sharma felt like a direct response to all the fan criticism he was getting. It's honestly concerning how quickly cricketers get hurt by opinions and then clap back the moment they have one good performance. Don't get me wrong, it was a solid knock.… pic.twitter.com/hgAkcxSFur

Shahbaz Ahmed breaks momentum for CSK, dismisses Kartik Sharma
Shahbaz Ahmed successfully broke Chennai Super Kings' surging momentum by dismissing a dangerous Kartik Sharma in the 16th over at the Ekana Cricket Stadium. Kartik mercilessly slog-swept a full delivery directly in his slot, launching it far over the deep mid-wicket boundary, hitting a six on the second ball. Shahbaz drifted down leg-side, allowing Kartik to easily guide it past short fine leg to the deep square leg cushion.

Shahbaz dropped back his length on middle stump, but Kartik rocked back onto his hind foot and hammered a brutal pull shot to the boundary on the fourth ball. Finally, Ahmad got a breakthrough on the last ball of the over as Kartik failed to get under the delivery, resulting in a thick edge that holed out directly to Aiden Markram at long-on.
