IPL has always been a source of entertainment for its audience not just because they get to see their favourite players in their home teams but also for the kind of unpredictable events it brings.

But there's been one kind of entertainment that IPL never fails to provide and that is the longest over being bowled in an over.

When we talk about longest over in IPL post Covid, one of the people who comes to mind is the Hyderabad blood, Mohammad Siraj. Siraj bowled an 11 ball over against MI while playing for RCB in Chinnaswamy. The over featured a dot ball, one run and then a series of 4 wide balls. Siraj finally ended the over with a dot ball. The over helped MI register 18 runs in the over.

The second longest over was bowled by Tushar Deshpande in CSK’s match against LSG in the Chepauk Stadium. Tushar’s spell began with a dot ball, two runs in another ball, a no ball and then a series of wide balls which helped LSG make 18 runs).

It would be illegal to talk about long over in IPL and not talk about Shardul’s over for LSG against KKR in 2025 in Eden Gardens. Thakur started his over 5 wides but ended up getting a wicket at the end of the over, for his team.

The MI skipper, Hardik Pandya has also been victim to bowling long spells in IPL. Pandya bowled his longest over in 2025 when MI played against GT in the Wankhede Stadium. Pandya’s over began with three legal delivers but then he bowled three wide balls.

Sandeep Sharma from RR also has his name in bowling the longest over by bowling the last over against DC. Sharma bowled the 19th over where he started his over with a wide, one dot ball and then a series of wide balls. The over helped DC register 19 runs in the over which resulted in a Super Over which RR lost.

Arshdeep bowls the longest over in IPL.

And in 2026 ,just as everyone thought GT’s match against PBKS would not be as interesting as the audiences thought. Arshdeep bowled an 11 ball over. Singh started his over with a dot ball but then went on to bowl several wide balls throughout the over and finally ended the over with one run.
