English cricketer Will Jacks has highly praised 15-year-old cricket prodigy Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, stating he is "looking forward to seeing him in Indian colours". The two recently shared the pitch during the IPL 2026 season, where Jacks made a stunning airborne boundary save to deny the young sensation an early six.

Following Vaibhav's record-breaking run in the IPL where the teenager broke Chris Gayle's record for the most sixes in a single IPL season and a 700-plus run season, bagging five awards Jacks took to social media to express his admiration for the prodigy. Jacks publicly voiced his excitement for the 15-year-old's future and how he is the talk of the town at the moment.

“Ya, I obviously think he is the talk of the town at the moment, and it is incredible. You would never think a 15-year-old would be doing this, which he does every time. Every time he is playing for the Rajasthan Royals, you have to watch. And everyone has said about him all the time, even when we are out for dinner, we have to see what he is doing. I don’t know what they will do about him or get him in, but I played him last week and I am excited to see him in Indian colours,” Will Jacks said.

Fifteen-year-old batting sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi earned his maiden India A call-up for the June 2026 limited-overs tri-series in Sri Lanka.

“I wanted to make 700 runs in IPL 2026”, said Vaibhav Sooryavanshi after winning the Orange Cap

After being retained by the Rajasthan Royals following a stellar 2025 campaign, Sooryavanshi elevated his game to new heights. His fearless intent made top-tier bowlers look helpless, and his ability to anchor an innings in sticky situations and accelerate at the death earned him massive praise. He amassed 776 runs in 16 matches at a staggering strike rate of 237.30, securing the Orange Cap and becoming the youngest player to ever win it. He also swept a record five individual awards.

After winning the Orange Cap on Sunday, at the post-match interview, Vaibhav revealed that he actually aimed to score 700 runs in IPL 2026, and he feels elated that he could fulfill his aim. “ Before the season, I had written down in the Notes app on my phone that I wanted to score 700 runs in this IPL season. After every match, I used to check where I stood, so that was one goal I managed to achieve,” he said.

"It's a great feeling winning all these awards. I got to learn a lot from this season. There has been a lot to take in, both on and off the field, and I know that if I want to play for a long time, I have to work on a few things. So, that will be my focus going forward, and I'll look to do well in the upcoming matches.” Vaibhav added.
