After LSG reached 155/8 in response to KKR's 155/7, the match was decided in a one-over shootout where KKR's Sunil Narine dominated with the ball. KKR won the match with three balls to spare in their Super Over chase after LSG collapsed while batting first in the tie-breaker. LSG managed only 1 run and lost 2 wickets in just 3 balls.
Chasing a target of 2 runs, KKR knocked them off comfortably within the first three balls of their turn to secure the victory. The game went to a Super Over thanks to a heroic last-ball six by LSG's Mohammed Shami in the regular 20th over.
