He has already scored 414 runs in the current season of the Indian Premier League. That’s as on April 30 and with a month to go for the completion of the league. He has been hitting his runs at a strike that is north of 145. It’s actually about to touch 150 with the with the way he is batting. In a team where the destructive duo of Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma are dominating the charts up top having scored exceptionally well with several 50+ stands up to this point and one where Ishan Kishan forms the dominant number 3, it is fascinating and important to be a certain Heinrich Klaasen. And with rich form and plenty of runs up his sleeve, Klaasen brings that level of aggression that is needed to excel for the Sunrisers Hyderabad.

An important player and someone who can up the ante of runs, Klaasen has already produced some vital knocks up to this point such as the unbeaten 65 against the Mumbai Indians, the 37 not out against the Delhi Capitals, the 59 against the Chennai SuperKings and the 40 against the Rajasthan Royals. Effective on the pitch and respect worthy off it.

That’s correct, if you think about it.

But having said that, what makes one say such a passionate statement about the South African right handed keeper- batter? As a matter of fact, most recently, the Hyderabad unit’s middle order batter was seen commuting via an auto rickshaw. The precise date of the image of Klaasen inside the rickshaw isn’t known but it’s sufficiently clear that he must have been between the IPL games as is pretty much everybody at this point.

So what does this tell us about Heinrich Klaasen

Well, first things first. We know that cricketers are stars and big names in the world of celebrityhood. They aren’t any longer ordinary beings anymore. Perhaps truer for those who have already become a part of the Indian Premier League, a tournament as popular as some celestial object in the sporting galaxy in the world.

Now Surely if you would have heard about talents operating in autos on Indian roads such as those young and emerging talents who function as net bowlers to players operating in the Indian Premier League, then it would have seemed normal. Happens all the time. Those cricketing talents aren’t established names anyways. But then to hear about a successful and well earning cricketer in the IPL such as Heinrich Klaasen opting to use autos instead of salubrious cars does warrant respect. He is a simple man. He likes no hang ups and doesn’t take his status of celebrity too seriously. Worthy of respect!
