The Chennai Super Kings will lock horns with their arch-rival Mumbai Indians in Match 44 at MA Chidambaram Stadium on 2nd May 2026.
In the recent MI vs CSK, CSK made history by achieving a 103-run victory in Wankhede Stadium. Sanju Samson’s Unbeaten 101* took CSK’s total to 207/6, and Akeal Hosein’s four-wicket haul bowled MI out at 104.
Considering that the match at Chepauk is going to be an interesting contest in the so-called El Clásico of IPL.
Impact players for CSK vs MI
Chennai Super Kings :
Mukesh Choudhury - After Khaleel Ahmed’s injury, Mukesh Choudhury has replaced him in the squad, and the left-arm spinner has been quite impactful, scalping 3 wickets in the two games played.
Prashant Veer - This young all-rounder was acquired by CSK for 14.20 Crores, but he is yet to make an impact this season. But it can be a handy option if CSK has a mini collapse.
Matt Short- The Aussie all-rounder can have a super impact if CSK needs an extra off-spinner, although he has prowess in batting too, but that has not yet been displayed
Ramakrishna Ghosh - The fast bowling all-rounder is yet to feature for CSK. He is also a handy lower-order batsman in case CSK has a mini collapse.
Mumbai Indians:
Robin Minz: The wicket-keeper batsman had an immense season in the domestic circuit as a finisher and was part of the Jharkhand team that won the 2025 Syed Mustaq Ali Trophy. As MI has a weak link in the finisher role, he can be a great addition.
Mayank Rawat - He made his debut against DC but wasn’t that impactful. As he is a handy off-spinner, he can be a good addition for the Chepauk Pitch.
Raghu Sharma - If MI needs an extra spinner for the Chepauk pitch, they can add Punjab’s Raghu Sharma to the squad.
Raj Bawa- The all rounder is yet to debut this season
