Pakistan batter Mohammad Rizwan got dismissed in the worst way in the first Test against Bangladesh. As both sides locked horns in the first of the two-game series at Dhaka’s Sher-e-Bangla Stadium, Rizwan found himself leaving the ball only to nip it back and get dismissed off a Nahid Rana delivery. The Pakistan batter misjudged the line of a delivery once the ball shaped in and went on to hit the top of the off stump, dismissing the set batter at 15 runs in 46 balls.

Notably, the Men in Green are touring Bangladesh and have struggled with the bat on every other occasion. The team that was without their most veteran batter Babar Azam suffered a 104-run loss against Bangladesh. It could be said that Pakistan who left Azam due to major controversy with the national selector Aaqib Javed felt his absence against the Bangla Tigers.

Mohammad Rizwan suffers bizarre dismissal against Nahid Rana

Mohammmad Rizwan, who was batting at 15 for the visiting side, suffered one of the most bizarre dismissals against Nahid Rana that ended up pushing them towards the edge. Rana delivered an in-swing delivery that moved Rizwan sharply after being pitched around off and went on to hit the off stump after the batter left the ball expecting it to move over the stumps. After Rizwan’s dismissal, no other Pakistani batter could manage to score in double digits.

Noman Ali, Hasan Ali, Shaheen Afridi, and Mohammad Abbas were forced to walk back at 4, 1, 0, and 5 respectively. On the Bangladesh’s side, Nahid Rana picked only a single wicket in the first innings while in the second innings when Pakistan didn’t have much choice, he emerged with some wonderful stats. He started with wickets of Shan Masood, before Saud Shakeel, Mohammad Rizwan and Noman Ali. At last, he dismissed Shaheen Afridi to end things for Pakistan, and guide the side towards their first win in this WTC cycle.
