Gujarat Titans speedster Mohammed Siraj was seen sharing a warm embrace with Royal Challengers Bengaluru batter and his former teammate, Virat Kohli in a post-match viral video. Both teams clashed against each other in the 34th league-stage game of the IPL 2026 at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. The game saw Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal score 81 and 55 runs to chase down 205 runs in a high-scoring thriller.

After the game, Kohli, who was awarded MOM for his brilliant knock and becoming the first player to hit 300+ sixes and 800+ boundaries, was seen hugging Siraj. In a heartwarming video doing rounds on social media, Kohli could be seen standing at the boundary line, when Siraj appeared from behind and gave the talismanic batter a hug. Both players were seen engaging in a joyful conversation, and the video of the same went viral all across the social media.

Mohammed Siraj and Virat Kohli share history as IPL teammates

It wasn’t just another video where two Indian cricket teammates could be seen hugging each other, but a moment that brought back a lot of memories for RCB fans. Notably, Siraj spent seven years in the Bengaluru-based franchise, before moving to Gujarat Titans ahead of the 2025 IPL season. He was not retained by the team ahead of the 2025 auction and subsequently joined GT, and became a key pace bowler alongside Prasidh Krishna and Kagiso Rabada.

Coming back to the game, the 2022 IPL winners put up a competitive score of 205 for the hosts, riding on Sai Sudharsan’s 100. In return, the defending champions got off to a slow start, but a catch drop of Kohli on the first ball proved to be expensive for the Shubman Gill-led side. The former Indian skipper came up with 81 off 44 alongside Padikkal’s 55 off 27, adding 115 runs for the second wicket to put the team on the top.

RCB wrapped up the game with five wickets in hand and seven balls to spare.
