It was a dream spell from Bhuvneshwar Kumar at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in the 38th match of the Indian Premier League 2026 between Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Bhuvneshwar Kumar started things off by dismissing debutant Sahil Parakh in just his second ball of the over. Hazlewood continued to impress from the other end as he picked up the big wicket of KL Rahul and also dismissed Sameer Rizvi as Delhi lost three wickets in the first two overs of the game. Bhuvneshwar Kumar in his second over picked up two wickets as he dismissed Tristan Stubbs and then Axar Patel. It was a dream spell for the right arm pacer and with those three wickets in the power play he broke a record held by Trent Boult.

Bhuvmeshwar Kumar went past Trent Boult for the bowler with most wickets in powerplay in IPL since 2023. Bhuvneshwar Kumar has picked up 33 wickets in the powerplay since IPL 2023. The swing king has been lethal with the new ball and he continued to prove that he still has the tools as he picked up three wickets to dent the Delhi Capitals batting unit.

Even in the previous fixture against Delhi Capitals, Bhuvneshwar picked up three wickets in the powerplay and he continued his dominance once again at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. Bhuvneshwar Kumar delivered a spell of 3-0-5-3 in the powerplay as Royal Challengers Bengaluru dominated the Delhi Capitals who could score just 13/6 in the powerplay. This is also the lowest score by any team in the powerplay in the history of IPL.
