In a video posted on X (formerly, Twitter) by the CSK social media handle, former captain MS Dhoni was seen reuniting with Dwayne Bravo. Dwayne Bravo is currently serving as a mentor for the Kolkata Knight Riders. This was not the first time the former CSK player has reunited with the CSK team, this tournament. Earlier in 2026, Bravo joined CSK stars in their most high-profile event The Roar 2026 held at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.
Dwayne Bravo’s presence at the 'Roar 2026' event on March 22, 2026, was a central highlight of the fan fest, marked by a mix of high-energy entertainment and light-hearted cricket. Although he currently serves as a mentor for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), his return to the M. A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai was treated as a "homecoming" for one of the franchise's most beloved legends. Bravo brought the stadium to its feet by performing his iconic "Champion" song. During the performance, he walked up to the front row where the current CSK squad was seated, specifically approaching MS Dhoni for a warm hug and a brief dance that quickly went viral.

As part of the "OG Super Kings" team, Bravo participated in a series of fun exhibition contests against the current IPL 2026 roster.
MS Dhoni’s speculated return for match against KKR
MS Dhoni is expected to return for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) match against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) scheduled for April 14, 2026. Having missed CSK's first four fixtures of the 2026 season due to a calf injury, reports indicate he has resumed jogging and batting in net sessions and is "pushing hard" to clear the final fitness tests for this specific clash. Dhoni has reportedly reached near-full fitness after completing rehabilitation for a calf strain sustained just before the tournament began.
Viral videos and training reports from the MA Chidambaram Stadium (Chepauk) show him participating in batting practice, though he had previously been restricted from high-speed sprinting and explosive wicketkeeping movements.
While some sources from ESPNcricinfo suggest he might still be "nowhere near selection" for a full game, others indicate he could be named as an Impact Player to manage his workload.
