
Mukul Choudhary made headlines at the Indian Premier League match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Lucknow Super Giants. The youngster playing just his third IPL game, smashed 54 runs off just 27 balls to take Lucknow Super Giants to a win from the jaws of defeat. In the post match presentation Mukul revealed a big thing that this was only his second match under lights. Putting this into context makes this knock even more special and with all the pressure he has delivered it for his side.
Mukul Choudhary was asked about his experience of playing under lights to which Mukul replied that this was just his second game under lights. Mukul was part of the Rajasthan side for the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and all the matches in that tournament was played during the day. This means that his debut game against Delhi Capitals was just his first ever game under lights and despite the lack of experience of playing under lights he shined brilliantly in this game.
Mukul Choudhary was picked up by LSG ahead of the IPL 2026 and he was on fire for Rajasthan in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy where he was aggressive in the middle order. He is a six hitter and has the power game which makes him a dangerous prospect. At just the age of 21, Mukul is already showing that he has the game to deliver at the biggest stage. He was under pressure having not done well in the first two matches but turned the tide and made it up with a sensational knock.
Lucknow Super Giants beat Kolkata Knight Riders in a thrilling game at the Eden Gardens. Mukul Choudhary won the player of the match as he smashed 7 sixes in his knock and took the team to a win. He calculated the chase brilliantly and in the last three overs farmed the strike and single handedly helped his team get over the line. This will be a very memorable day for him and he has repaid the faith that the management has shown towards him.
