Noor Ahmad was their star bowler of the day as he picked up 3 crucial wickets in the middle phase of the game. Finn Allen and Sunil Narine are well known for their hitting abilities and they knew that, if the duo got going then it would be absolute chaos. Anshul Kamboj bowled a brilliant ball with a hint of outswing to get Finn Allen to mistime the ball and it was caught by Shivam Dube. Following the wicket of Finn Allen, Sunil Narine was also dismissed by Khaleel Ahmed. After the end of the powerplay, Akeal Hosein managed to get to his first wicket of the season by dismissing the in-form Angkrish Raghuvanshi for just 27 runs. The Kolkata Knight Riders were 79/3, after the wicket of Raghuvanshi.

Noor Ahmad was given the ball by the skipper in the hope that the spinner would be able to find his form back. He dismissed Ajinkya Rahane with a brilliant ball and the catch was taken by Ruturaj Gaikwad. After the wicket of Rahane, it was Rinku Singh who tried to get things underway, but ended up hitting it straight into the hands of Shivam Dube. In the very next ball, Noor Ahmad got the ball to turn in sharply and Cameron Green seemed to be clueless as his stumps were rattled. Noor Ahmad bowled a brilliant spell, picking 3 wickets for just 21 runs from his 4 overs.
