A heartwarming video from PSL 2026 recently went viral, capturing Babar Azam playing cricket with Aliyar Afridi, the son of Pakistan fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi and grandson of legend Shahid Afridi. The interaction took place during the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) season, where players often spend time with their families on the sidelines of the high-stakes tournament. Babar Azam was seen playfully bowling to young Aliyar Afridi, who was holding a bat and trying to "outsmart" the star batter.
Shaheen’s wife, Ansha Afridi (daughter of Shahid Afridi), and her sisters have been frequently spotted in the stands during the 2026 season, cheering on the teams. While Shahid Afridi himself has five daughters and no sons, he is now a doting grandfather to Aliyar (born August 2024), whom he has called a "blessing." The bond between Babar and Shaheen’s family has been a major talking point, as the two stars often share "icons of cricket" moments despite their professional rivalry on the field.
