The team missed their inaugural title in 2025 after losing a close final to Royal Challengers Bangalore. With IPL 2026 expected to begin in March, the Punjab Kings have already started their early preparations, signaling that the franchise is looking to return stronger and more powerful this season.

Punjab Kings started preparation for IPL 2026 at UAE

Punjab Kings shared a photo of its players in Zayed Cricket Stadium, UAE, with the caption “2026 mein BAS JEETNA HAI,” confirming that the franchise has started its preparations for IPL 2026. 

Players like Priyansh Arya, Shashank Singh, Vishal Nishad, Avinash Pyla, Pravin Dubey, Yuzvendra Chahal, Nehal Wadhera, Prabhsimran Singh, Harpreet Brar, and Yash Thakur were posing for the photo in Zayed Cricket Stadium, UAE, in the Punjab Kings social media post. 

The captain of the side, Shreyas Iyer, and the foreign players are yet to join the practice camp, but the big names like Yuzvendra Chahal are there with the youngsters. Notably, he is also doing commentary for Star Sports in the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2026.

This shows the dedication of the franchise. They lost the last season final to Royal Challengers Bangalore by just 6 runs and missed their maiden title. This time the team has a clear focus, and they already shown the dedication to get that trophy in 2026. 

Punjab Kings were silent in the IPL 2026 mini auction most of the time, but they did buy some exciting talents, including Cooper Connolly, Ben Dwarshuis, Praveen Dubey, and Vishal Nishad.
