Finalists of 2025 season, Punjab Kings came into the auction with a settled core. They had Rs 11.50 crore in their kitty at the start of the bidding war, and this saw the franchise stay quiet for a long time in the initial rounds. PBKS had their first pick in the accelerated round when they paid Rs 3 crore for Australian all-rounder Cooper Connolly, who has been impressive recently. He has performed well for Perth Scorchers in BBL. Their next pick was Ben Dwarshuis, another Australian player who has been doing well.

Dwarshius is a left arm pacer and can hit the big shots lower down the order. He will be a good backups for Lockie Ferguson and Bartlett. Punjab later picked a few uncapped Indian spinners in Vishal Nishad and leg-spinner Praveen Dubey. PBKS have retained a strong and well-balanced nucleus under the leadership of skipper Shreyas Iyer they will be looking to go all the way in 2026 IPL.
