According to Cricinfo, India men's assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate has stepped down from his position following the white-ball tour of the UK. This was also the tour where India lost both the T20I and ODI series to England. The former Netherlands captain informed the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) of his decision during the tour.
Doeschate, selected by captain Gautam Gambhir in mid-2024, fulfilled his first two-year contract as he contributed significantly to both the batting and fielding departments. The national team registered significant victories in limited-over competitions, including the 2025 Asia Cup victory and the 2026 Men's T20 World Cup defense.
The publication also revealed that Doeschate would be returning to Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for the next IPL as a coach.Doeschate was a two-time IPL winner with KKR as a player (2012 and 2014) and is returning to his winning franchise. He later served as the fielding coach from 2022 to 2024. This high-profile move will also see him reunite with Abhishek Nayar, with whom he previously collaborated in both the KKR and Indian national team support setups.
