Rajasthan Royals and Mumbai Indians will now engage in an 11-overs clash on Tuesday. Notably, the Royals hosted Indians in the 13th game of the Indian Premier League 2026 at Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati. However, rain managed to play spoilsport and the game was reduced to 11 overs on each side. The toss of the game was also delayed due to the rain and later took place at 9:55 pm IST.

Notably, this is the second IPL match in a row that has been affected by rain. Earlier on Monday, the Kolkata Knight Riders’ home game against the Punjab Kings at Eden Gardens was washed out after the home team started batting and the hosts managed to post 25 runs in 3.4 overs with the loss of two wickets.

Hardik Pandya returns to action, wins toss against RR captain Riyan Parag

Notably, Hardik Pandya returned to action on Tuesday after missing the second MI game against Delhi Capitals on Saturday. Instead of him, Suryakumar Yadav took the responsibility of captaincy on his shoulder and revealed that Pandya wasn’t well for the game. However, the star all-rounder was declared fit for Tuesday’s game and resumed the role of captaincy.

Pandya won the toss against RR captain Riyan Parag and decided to bowl first. During the toss, he said, “We are going to bowl first. It has been under covers, in rain affected games you should bat second. That has always been back of the mind. It is just the start of the season and we are bound to make mistakes, you don't win the IPL in the first couple of weeks.”

The Indians are coming off a loss to the Delhi Capitals, whereas their rivals remain undefeated thus far in the IPL 2026 season.

Never seen better player than Vaibhav Sooryavanshi: Harbhajan Singh heaps praise on RR’s newest batting sensation

Former Indian spin master Harbhajan Singh has lauded Rajasthan Royals’ newest batting sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. The young batting icon, Sooryavanshi, has taken the Indian cricketing scenario by a storm ever since he made his debut in the Indian Premier League, is in his second season of the global T-20 league. Sooryavanshi got off to a favorable start of the season and came up with a 15-ball half century in the RR’s season opener against the Chennai Super Kings.

As the Royals are scheduled to lock horns with the Mumbai Indians, former India and Mumbai star spinner Harbhajan Singh heaped praise on Sooryavanshi. Singh labelled him as the ‘best player’ he has ever seen. Notably, in the first game, the 15-year-old played a knock of 52 years, and in the second game, he came up with 31 runs against the Gujarat Titans.

Aakash Chopra labels Vaibhav Sooryavanshi as ‘Wonder Kid’

Harbhajan Singh isn’t the only name who went all praises for the Indian cricket prodigy. Ahead of the highly-anticipated clash between the Royals and the Indians, former cricketer Aakash Chopra labelled Sooryavanshi as a ‘wonderkid’. Speaking about the game and Sooryavanshi facing Jasprit Bumrah, Chopra said, “Who is the genius? It's Bumrah. Who is Gen Next's poster boy? It's the wonderkid, Vaibhav Suryavanshi.”

“They will be facing each other. The last time they faced each other, Bumrah wasn't required. Deepak Chahar had dismissed him for zero.”

The cricketer-turned-commentator added that it would be an interesting sight if Bumrah bowls against Sooryavanshi in the game. “I feel the ball will be bowled full for him, and Bumrah won't start. However, if Bumrah starts, then I will just doff my hat. If you have to take out your Brahmastra to stop a 15-year-old kid, it just tells me everything that I need to know,” Chopra added.

Notably, the game between RR and MI was affected by rain, and as of writing, the toss was delayed due to the same.
