Chennai Super Kings have received another injury blow as their all-rounder Ramakrishna Ghosh has been ruled out of the remainder of IPL 2026. The 28-year-old has sustained a fracture in his right foot, and would be out of action for the remaining season. The announcement was made by the franchise on their social media, where they revealed that the injury was sustained during the second CSK vs MI El-Clasico on Saturday, May 2. Notably, it was the same game he made his debut in the IPL.
The five-time IPL winners took to social media and announced, “Ramakrishna Ghosh sustained a fracture to his right foot during the CSK v MI match at Chepauk. He will take no further part in IPL 2026. Get well soon, Rambo.” Though the cause of the injury is not known, Ghosh dived to complete a catch early in the game to send Will Jacks back to the hut. Not only this, but he also tumbled in his follow-through after delivering his first ball to Naman Dhir.
Chennai Super Kings’ injury vows deepen as Ghosh gets sidelined
It hasn’t been a dreamy season for the Chennai Super Kings, and though they are appearing to get back on track, there is still a long way to go for them. Ghosh’s injury has further deepened their vows and the five-time winners would be required to find a suitable replacement for him. Notably, in the last two weeks, the Yellow Army lost two of their players Khaleel Ahmed and star batter Ayush Mhatre. Not only this, but they had already been without names like Nathan Ellis, and MS Dhoni.
The Chepauk-based team has already replaced Mhatre with Akash Madhwal, but Khaleel Ahmed’s replacement is yet to be announced. The team would now have to look for Ghosh’s replacement as they pave their way through the second half of the tournament. In his first game, Ghosh dismissed Suryakumar Yadav in CSK vs MI on Saturday.
