Rajat Patidar made his IPL debut in the 2021 season under the captaincy of Virat Kohli, but he couldn’t manage to get into his usual rhythm. Later, he missed out on the 2022 season and came back into the side in the 2023 season as an injury replacement for Luvnith Sissodia. Rajat Patidar etched his name in the history of the IPL with a stunning century against the Lucknow Super Giants, which made the management back him for the 2024 season as well. He was awarded the captaincy for the IPL 2025 season, which drew some criticism, but he silenced the critics by winning an IPL trophy for the franchise after 18 long years in his captaincy debut season.
