Punjab Seek Improved Batting as Confident Start Sets Up CSK Showdown
The Punjab Kings were off to a flying start in the season as they won by 3 wickets against the Gujarat Titans. They bowled exceptionally well in the first innings to limit the star-studded batting side of the Titans to just 162. Vyshak Vijaykumar was impressive with his bowling as he used his pace variations to good effect, picking up 3 important wickets. But from the batting point of view, the Punjab Kings didn’t fire as they would have liked to, as just 3 batters from their entire batting unit reached double figures. Cooper Connolly saved the day for the Punjab Kings as he scored a wonderful unbeaten knock of 72 off just 44 balls, including 5 fours and 5 sixes. The rest of the batting unit seemed rash and indecisive with their shot-making, which would be a factor they would like to improve in the coming matches.
As the Punjab Kings are all set to take on the Chennai Super Kings, with their skipper match-ready, they will be hoping that they can win by a commanding margin, as the Chennai side seemed to be quite lost in their opening match.
