Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s Mr. Nags brutally trolled Jitesh Sharma for his slow knock after the cricketer made ‘I pray to god’ remarks. Notably, ahead of the IPL 2026 season, Sharma appeared in a podcast with former RCB and international cricketer AB de Villiers. In his conversation with the legendary cricketer, Sharma revealed his ‘hero mindset’ and grabbed attention by saying that he prays to god that the RCB’s top-order collapses, so that he gets to bat and become a hero.

"You won't believe, I always pray to God, let my top order get collapsed and i can bat and score," he told de Villiers. "I see it as an opportunity to become a hero. I always visualise such innings in my life. I am such a person: I have always wanted to do something magical,” Sharma told ABD. Needless to say, the 32-year-old had to face severe backlash for his comments.

Mr. Nags trolls Jitesh Sharma after the batter fails to perform

Recently, Sharma appeared in the RCB Insider show with Mr. Nags, where the host brutally roasted him for his remarks and his performance slump that followed. “I pray that my team gets out so that I play and then you play the slowest innings of your career,” Mr. Nags / Dinesh Sait told the wicketkeeper-batter. Notably, during RCB’s clash against Delhi Capitals on April 18 at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

During the game, it seemed that the cricket gods appeared to have heard him. The game saw Capitals bowling first and restricted their rivals to 175/8 in 20 overs. Players such as Phil Salt and Rajat Patidar were back in the hut and the stage was set for whoever had the nerve to claim it. While it was the exact opportunity that Sharma had wanted, he failed to perform and came up with the slowest innings of his career. He could manage to put up only 14 runs off 20 balls at a strike rate of 70.

Notably, in nine games thus far this season, Sharma has only managed to put together 63 runs at an average of 9.00 and a strike rate of 112.50.
