LSG skipper Rishabh Pant was fined ₹ 12 Lakh for a slow over-rate violation in yesterday's match against the Chennai Super Kings, although LSG won the game against CSK. IPL confirmed that LSG Skipper Rishabh Pant breached Article 2.22 of the tournament’s Code of Conduct, which relates to minimum over-rate offences. Since it was LSG and Rishabh Pant’s first offence of this kind, he was fined INR 12 lakhs, but for the second offence, the fine amount would be 24 lakhs.
Slow over-rate fines have become very common lately in the IPL. Earlier this week, Axar Patel and Pat Cummins were fined 12 lakhs each for slow over-rate wrongdoings. Other than that, skippers Shreyas Iyer, Ajinkya Rahane, Shubman Gill, and Hardik Pandya are also some names that breached the code of conduct in IPL 2026.

LSG ends IPL 2026 on a high note with two wins out of three
LSG had a horrible season throughout IPL 2026, lingering at the bottom of the table throughout the tournament. Although at the verge of the end phase, they have won the last two games against defending champions Royal Challengers Bangalore and Chennai Super Kings on Friday. Both were must-win games for the two teams, but LSG created an upset.
LSG had the upper hand on the Chennai Super Kings from the first innings as Akash Dingh nailed the powerplay with two massive wickets of Ruturaj Gaikwad and Sanju Samson, letting CSK score only 37/2 at the end of the powerplay. CSK posted 187 for LSG thanks to Kartik Sharma’s innings of 71 runs. But the real highlight of the night was LSG’s all-rounder Mitchell Marsh, whose innings of 90(38) made the chase look like a simple cakewalk. Anshul Kamboj’s conceding 63 runs in just 16 balls drifted CSK apart more. LSG had nothing to lose but gave an excellent performance, putting CSK in a desperate spot to win the next two to qualify.
