Rishabh Pant pulled off a stunning one-handed six off Marco Jansen, briefly lifting hopes in a steep chase. However, the pressure of the massive target proved too much as LSG slipped and couldn’t keep up with the required rate.
Rishabh Pant struck a one-handed six against Marco Jansen during today's IPL 2026 match between the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Punjab Kings (PBKS). LSG who were given a mammoth score of 255 to chase in twenty overs, started their innings with Ayush Badoni and Mitchell Marsh as the opening pair, switching from their traditional pair of Aiden Markram and Mitchell Marsh.
Ayush Badoni was dismissed by Vyshak Vijaykumar. The wicket fell on the final ball of the powerplay (5.6 overs), providing a critical breakthrough for Punjab Kings as LSG attempted to chase down a massive target of 255. After Ayush Badoni's wicket on the final ball of the 6th over, Rishabh Pant came out to bat and immediately targeted Marco Jansen in the very next over (7th). Jansen errs on the fuller side again; Pant charges down the track and launches it straight back over the bowler’s head.Even with one hand, he generates enough power to smoke the ball over the long-on boundary for a six. Pant's aggressive cameo ended in the 13th over when he was caught behind off Arshdeep Singh.

LSG falter to a mammoth chase of 255
The Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) faltered in their massive chase of 255, eventually losing to the Punjab Kings (PBKS) by 113 runs in their IPL 2026 encounter. Despite an aggressive start and some spectacular hitting from Rishabh Pant, the target proved insurmountable as the LSG batting lineup collapsed under the pressure of a soaring required run rate. A monumental 254/7, powered by Priyansh Arya's blistering 93 off 37 balls (including 9 sixes) and Cooper Connolly's 87 off 46 balls. After the 10th over, the required run rate climbed above 16 per over, forcing batters to take high-risk shots against every ball.
Arshdeep Singh and Vijaykumar Vyshak executed their plans perfectly, using slower balls and wide yorkers to starve the LSG batters of boundaries. Chahal broke a dangerous second-wicket partnership by dismissing Mitchell Marsh (40 off 28) in the 12th over. He lured Marsh into a slog-sweep that was caught at long-on by Xavier Bartlett.
