Lucknow Super Giants skipper Rishabh Pant was involved in a bizarre interaction with commentator and broadcaster Ian Bishop during the toss. The Pant-led side travelled to the Pink City, Jaipur, to lock horns with the Rajasthan Royals in one of the last league-stage games of the season on Tuesday, May 19. While the Royals were entering the clash on the back of a three-game losing skid, the Super Giants came off a seven-wicket win over the Chennai Super Kings.

In a must-win game for the hosts, RR’s stand-in skipper Yashasvi Jaiswal won the toss and invited the rivals to put the score on the board first. However, visiting skipper Rishabh Pant, found himself in the middle of a bizarre interaction with commentator Bishop. The cricketer-turned-commentator wanted to know about the status of star bowler Mohammed Shami, but it seemed that Pant had his own brain-fade moment, and he shared updates about everyone but the bowler.

This is how the conversation went-

Pant - Shami is not playing.

Bishop - Issue with Shami?

Pant - Yeah.

Bishop - Yeah? What’s with Shami?

Pant - Mohsin.

Bishop - No, what’s the issue with Shami?

Bishop - Who is out?

Pant - Shami out, Mohsin in.

Bishop - Ya, I was aski..

Pant - Aiden out, Badoni in.

Bishop - Okay, leave it there.

We want to put our best foot forward: LSG skipper Rishabh Pant

During the toss, Pant revealed that even though the team has been kicked out of the playoffs contention, they still have a lot to play for. Speaking during the toss, he said, “As I said in the last few games, we have a lot to play for. As a team, we take pride and confidence in playing every match for our fans. At the same time, we want to put our best foot forward because we know we have a good team and we can do it.”
