
Ahead of the hectic IPL 2026 season, the former Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma has taken some time off with wife and has went to Maldives for a short vacation. The 2026 season is scheduled to begin on 28th March 2026, with defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru set to play against five-time champions Chennai Super Kings in Bengaluru. The IPL 2026 schedule is set to be released on 12 or 13 March as confirmed by BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia.
Rohit Sharma, who was ICC's brand ambassador for the recently concluded T20 World Cup was seeing practicing in Mumbai before leaving for vacation. In last month, since India's bilateral series, Rohit Sharma has worked really hard on his fitness and made sure to keep himself fit and fully available for the upcoming season.

Rohit Sharma likely to NOT play as Impact Player in IPL 2026
As per the recent reports, Rohit Sharma has informed Mumbai Indians that he will not play as impact player in the upcoming season of the IPL. Rohit wants to keep himself fit and hence has taken this decision.
Further, Virat Kohli, who is currently in London has also started his preparations for the upcoming IPL. He posted a video on Instagram which shows how excited Virat Kohli is for the season.
