The Gujarat Titans opener Sai Sudharshan has scored his 5th successive half-century of the season and this time it is against the Chennai Super Kings. He has proved why he is such a good player of the game with his sensible innings tonight. Sudharshan wasn’t eager to throw the bat at every ball that came his way rather he was willing to give the strike to his skipper to get the most out of the powerplay. He flicked the switch after the powerplay and he brought up his half-century off 35 balls.
Sai Sudharshan and Shubman Gill have given their side the much needed start with some brilliant shot-making and they have laid the foundation for a huge total. The bowler didn’t really matter as the two were just in fine touch and there was really no stopping them. CSK will be happy to finally get rid of Shubman Gill but they would have hoped that the wicket came much earlier on in the innings.

GT’s controlled explosive batting puts CSK under immense pressure at Ahmedabad
The Chennai Super Kings had one of the most important factors of the game going their way and that is the toss during an evening game at Ahmedabad. But they would feel like they haven’t been able to exert a great deal of pressure on the opposition. Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharshan were off to a strong start and they were able to pick their boundaries with ease. It was a very well balanced partnership as they respected the good deliveries and were successful in finding the odd boundary.
The most daunting thing for CSK even more than their position in the game at the moment would be the injury of Sanju Samson. He has been their most dependable batter and to have doubts regarding his availability in the second innings, would be an absolute nightmare. Noor Ahmad has been one of their key bowlers and he has been expensive today with Shubman Gill and Jos Buttler taking on the Afghan spinner with no mercy at all.
As it stands, the Gujarat Titans are cruising towards a score more than 200 and this would be an area of concern for the Chennai batting unit. CSK would love to pick up some quick wickets at this stage of the game and to put GT under pressure, as a couple of wickets could mean some serious pressure on the batting side.
