The Chennai Super Kings star Sanju Samson has risen to the occasion as he has scored a half-century against the Mumbai Indians. Sanju Samson and Ruturaj Gaikwad put up a decent opening partnership of 32 but it was brought to an end by Allah Ghazanfar. Sanju did not slow down on his scoring rate even though the wickets were falling at the other end. The critics had expressed their disappointment and hope on Sanju Samson prior to the game. The visitors have been off to a flying start in the game and the only thing that may affect them is the number of wickets fallen.
Ruturaj Gaikwad showed a glimmer of hope with a quick flurry of boundaries but it was short-lived as he fell prey to Ghazanfar. The form of the skipper has been subject to criticism but today the intent was shown and that itself is a massive leap for the skipper. The Chennai Super Kings faced a collapse in the previous match against the Sunrisers Hyderabad as their middle order couldn’t get going. The yellow fans will be looking forward to the performance of their middle order as they have made some changes and that could yield positive results.

Sanju Samson holds firm amid wickets as Chennai Super Kings eye competitive total against MI
The Mumbai Indians will be a tad bit disappointed in their power play bowling as they couldn’t get the proper start. Hardik Pandya was expensive in the power play and that could be the problem when you don’t have a seamer to bowl the new ball. The Chennai top-order has fired and that would give hope to the fans in the upcoming games. With the number of wickets that have fallen, CSK will have their hopes pinned on Sanju Samson to carry the side. Kartik Sharma will be looking to hold his ground and take the pressure off Samson at the other end.
Towards the back end of the innings, Hardik Pandya will most definitely turn to Jasprit Bumrah to remove Sanju Samson. Ashwani kumar was exceptionally good in the previous game with a 4-wicket haul. The Chennai Super Kings will have to get to a commendable total if they are to hold off this Mumbai Indians batting unit.
As it stands the Chennai Super Kings are 131/4 after 13 overs and there unfortunately is not much batting to come. The Mumbai Indians can well and truly get back in the game with a couple of quick wickets.
