In a heartwarming viral moment on 3 April 2026, Sarfaraz Khan welcomed his father, Naushad Khan, to Chennai ahead of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) match against the Punjab Kings at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. Sarfaraz welcomed his father by gifting him a custom CSK jersey with the number 97.
“Welcome to Chennai dad. CSK has made a jersey for you, with your favourite number 97 and his name (Naushad) written on it. It is your favourite because in Hindi Naushad means Nau-Saat and your name is Naushad,” the CSK batter was heard saying in the video.
The player’s dad wished him good luck for the match. He also showed the fans the PBKS trophy he was holding pointing it towards Musheer’s team and pointing towards the CSK jersey and saying it is Sarfaraz’s team and both the teams are in heart and he cannot say bad about either of the teams.
Sarfaraz explained that the number 97 holds special meaning because the name Naushad translates to 97.
