A great or rather interesting facet of the Indian Premier League is the way the players celebrate on and off the field and it is victory that truthfully speaking, brings the best out of them. The same was evident right at the start of the famous franchise league based event in 2008 and the rich celebratory gestures or traditions, as one would call it, have continued to this very day, as season 2026 is headed towards an exciting and thrilling finish with more than half the edition in 2026 already rendered complete. At times, it’s the normal ritual of exciting high fives exchanged among teammates or the passionate running around celebrations (in the wake of taking a wicket or effecting a big dismissal that become the common sight). And when not, then exciting captions posted in the aftermath of a contest - and at times, by captains- that form big headlines the very next day.

The same was the case here with GT and victorious captain Shubman Gill

So the big question is what really happened and what are we talking about here in the context of famous IPL celebrations. We know and instantly remember upon rewinding the mind to the players who played in the past such as Dwayne Bravo and his breaking into the famous Champion dance step when talking about famous celebrations or poses.

But it could be said something that is a big hit and something well received in the IPL fanfare is the signature pose that Punjab teammates enjoy and pose with when they win a contest. It’s commonly seen in the aftermath of PBKS games.

But what if their signature pose is brought to life by their opponents?

Sounds weird, right? That’s exactly the hot talking point. In what is a social media post that’s widely trending with fans calling it as something that “cooked” the Punjab team and its captain, Shreyas Iyer, Gujarat Titans captain Gill posed with two of his teammates as he conquered PBKS at Ahmedabad last Sunday evening whilst doing the signature Punjab winning pose.

The effect was there to be seen

While this may have been unacceptable to many hurting fans who absolutely dreaded the sight of their famous team being defeated by the visibly improving GT side, the victorious members of the Gujarat side may surely have enjoyed this one.

The image is clean and simple and non insulting

With Sai Sudharsan to his right and Washington Sundar to his left, flocked in the middle is Gill doing the signature Punjabi dance move. The very move we as fans have loved to see on the part of Shreyas Iyer and his team.

And yet there are some fans according to whom Gill is “cooking” the PBKS outfit with this gesture when it’s a harmless fun loving move. Is it not?

At the end of the day to have overcome such a strong team, a table topping side with no fewer than 13 points against its name does call for some celebration- doesn’t it?

That’s exactly what Gujarat Titans have done here.
